Expected outcome

What you’ll achieve

  • A published form that validates input, records the intended contact fields and channel consent, and shows the approved success experience.
Step by step

Follow the workflow

  1. 1

    Open Actions → Forms

Create a form in the website or commerce workspace where submissions should be stored.

  2. 2

    Choose and map fields deliberately

Ask only for information needed for the stated purpose. Map standard identity fields consistently and use custom fields when the answer should become structured contact data rather than unstructured copy.

  3. 3

    Add consent language

Configure the subscription purpose, required consent, privacy link, and double opt-in behavior appropriate to your market.

  4. 4

    Design the form

Set copy, styles, button, confirmation state, and any redirect or follow-up experience.

  5. 5

    Test the complete submission

Submit a test address and confirm validation, consent state, contact creation, confirmation email, and success behavior.

  6. 6

    Publish and measure

Activate the form and monitor views, submissions, and signup rate.

Quality check

Verify your work

  • A test submission creates or updates the expected contact without an avoidable duplicate
  • Every submitted standard and custom field appears in the intended contact field
  • Consent, double opt-in, confirmation, redirect, and success copy behave as configured
Troubleshooting

If something doesn’t look right

No contact appears

Verify the form is published in the selected workspace and complete a valid live submission.

A field is empty or misplaced

Review its standard or custom-field mapping and submit a new test.

Subscription remains unconfirmed

Check the email sender, double-opt-in message, destination, and recipient inbox.

Scope

Limitations and safeguards

Limit

A form records the configured consent evidence but does not determine the organization’s lawful basis, retention policy, or required regional wording.
